Mark Bothwell has been a professional photographer for over 20 years and during that period has established a reputation for producing simple, striking work.

Demand for Mark’s portraiture and bespoke wedding photography means leading magazines, publishers, PR agencies, major corporations and private clients commission Mark to produce his relaxed, classic photography on an ever-growing basis.

Mark has recently graduated to the ranks of those who have photographed a Royal Wedding, when in May 2023 he was an official photographer to Princess Sophie-Alexandra von Bayern for her marriage to Prince Ludwig von Bayern, in Germany.

A great believer in the fact that variety breeds creativity, Mark has worked commercially in over 50 cities around the world since he started working as a photographer aged just 21. During that time he has shot in locations as varied as the Sahara Desert and Western Africa to more glamorous locations in Europe, the USA, The Far East and Australia.

Recent UK wedding commissions have taken him to renowned locations including Westminster Abbey, The Houses of Parliament, Claridge's, Greenwich Naval College, The Ivy, One Marylebone, Ely Cathedral, Norwich Cathedral, Woburn Abbey, The Dorchester, The Reform Club and The Savoy. A particularly happy traveller, in recent months he has covered destination weddings in the Channel Islands, Munich, Paphos, Genoa, Lisbon, Paris and Sydney.

Many established venues around the country now recommend Mark as a 'preferred photographer' to their wedding and event clients. These include Hampton Court Palace, The Hurlingham Club, Kew Gardens, TATE Modern, London’s St Pancras Renaissance Hotel, The Mandarin Oriental, Banking Hall, Chelsea Physic Garden, The Lanesborough, The Tower of London, Fulham Palace, Somerset House, Institute of Contemporary Arts (ICA), The Lansdowne Club, Cowley Manor and the spectacular Shangri-La Hotel at The Shard.

Mark lives in Suffolk with his (always wonderful) wife, writer and journalist, Ruth Elkins - and (nearly always wonderful) son, Hugo.
