The magic of the movies. These days that magic often manifests itself as digital trickery - namely rows of very talented people painstakingly building and inserting content which was never there 'in camera'.

I recently stumbled across this great side by side comparison of such content, featuring the final tracking shot from Martin Scorsese's magnificent film, HUGO. Keep flicking your eyes between the frames and watch the seamless transition from character to character as the camera moves into, through, around and then out of the space.

The final result looks simple enough, but then again when something is done well, it looks easy. A genius at work.
