Many venues give you classic shots, images which work every time. It’s not that as a creative individual you’ve run out of ideas by embracing them - it’s more that you know a little bit of magic will almost certainly occur there, so you make sure you’re ready…
Just such a cracking picture is on the steps of the Chelsea Old Town Hall, in London’s eternally hip King’s Road. Inevitably, given the size of the ceremony rooms, a wedding there is intimate and very people-centric, always a potent combo which leads to lovely, genuine photographs.
So there I am, along with small, super-welcoming crew of friends and family, awaiting Aleyda and Richard to emerge. Then - whammo - whoops and cheers and a mini explosion of happiness ensues. I’m describing the lead shot above, and it’s one which nails the feel of the day perfectly.
Looking back, their simple plan effortlessly flowed from Chelsea, to a municipal park for drinks, then a local Fulham bistro for dinner. Good for them, less ‘stuff’ and more genuine people moments, which I think comes across without question in the mini set displayed below…
