Anybody who has been lucky enough to attend a Jewish wedding knows that, frankly, these guys have celebration down to a fine art. Jacqueline and Len's day was quite simply joyous - it's the only suitable word.
It was terrific to be back at The Kensington Roof Gardens - a fabulously vibrant space nestled above the hustle and bustle of west central London. It's so easy to forget you're seven floors up when in these tranquil surroundings. It's only when you go up one more level, to the Babylon restaurant, that you suddenly remember just how high you've climbed in the warp-speed lift.
When I first met Jacqueline and Len, before they'd even commissioned me, poor Len was doused with red wine after a woman slipped in The Lobby Bar at One Aldwych. I was reminded of this incident as the dancing took place before their wedding breakfast: wine throwing was about all that was missing - such was the energy on the dance floor.
As I write, I have just finished the first draft of their 100 page wedding book. Looking back at the shots chosen it struck me just how prevalent the smiles were that day. I view their set with tremendous satisfaction and remain grateful they trusted me to capture their day. I have no doubt this particular wedding album will get lots of attention in the years to come... Mazel tov!
